I had an odd afternoon off and I decided to take my Brompton to El Granada to try biking along the California Coastal Trail. I read that they recently opened a new pedestrian and bike bridge, the Mirada Bridge, connecting two disconnected parts of the trail and I wanted to go try it out. I wanted to ride down the coast and eventually head over the mountains (via Bus) and take the Caltrain back home. My itinerary led me to the Daly City BART where i caught two busses that took me to Moss Beach, just outside El Granada.

On the way I noticed how nice the Pacifica was and I made a mental note to make sure to come back, I think there is a nice coast ride from the Pacifica to Linda Mar if you bus past the scary highway bits!

I rode all the way along the coast to Half Moon Bay where I caught the 294 bus back to the Caltrain. The trail is really quite nice and I would definitely go again on a sunny day. It would be great to relax on the beach if it was warmer. All in all it was a fun time trying out the bus + Brompton combo to get somewhere along the coast so easily. I have made notes of things to see again and will probably have a few more bus trips out here given how easy it was to access!
